These are a few things I have found helpful to get me motivated, keep me nourished and well equipped:

Reference:

Ironman: The Ironman page is a wealth of information, training options, coaches and dialogue.  www.ironman.com

Usa Triathlon: https://www.teamusa.org/usa-triathlon  Another amazing source of information.  I subscribe to the magazine, USA Triathlon, it comes with your annual membership to USAT.  READ. READ. READ.

"The Long Run" Matt Long with Charles Butler (ISBN 978-1-60961-179-8) (a suggested read by Michael after a pretty significant, self imposed pitty party last month.)  It is a brilliant read and certainly puts things in perspective.

As I try new products that help me, I will post them.

Salted Caramel Almond Brittle: Ingredients: 1 cup slivered almonds, 1/4 cup Kerry Gold salted butter, 1/2 cup Coconut Sugar, 2 tsp. Madagascar Vanilla, 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp Himalayan Sea Salt for the top. In a baking dish, (my Mom uses her pie plates) place parchment paper. Put vanilla, salt, butter and coconut sugar into a non stick skillet, heat over medium heat until dissolved. Add Almonds, (we buy the 6 ounce bag of Shoprite brand sliced almonds, but don’t use the whole bag.) Continually stir until the mixture comes to a boil. Boil for 2-3 minutes until it begins to turn brown then remove from heat. Pour the mixture into the pans, using caution as the ingredients will be very hot. My Mom then uses a spatula to spread the ingredients around the dish until the almonds are evenly spread apart. Grind your Himalayan salt on top. Mom then puts it into the refrigerator for about an hour until its completely cool, then, she thoroughly enjoys smashing it into edible sized pieces. (This woman and her knives…) I keep mine in a glass Tupperware container in the fridge and eat as necessary. Mine don’t last more than a few days, but Im sure they will last about a week if needed. Enjoy!

Alt Red: Alt Red is a Phytonutrient derived from beets. This product is perfect for any athlete, endurance or otherwise. Athletes who suffer from AID or thyroid disease should avoid food/supplements with nitrates in them. It can diminish the efficacy of your thyroid medicine. The refining process of AltRed removes the sugars and nitrates, making it perfect for people like me. The Photo nutrient in AltRed (betalains) helps mitigate lactic acid and diminish recovery times. I have noticed a big difference in my improvement and race time while using this product. Check out their website. I love this product so much, I am now an ambassador. https://shop.sur.co/discount/TCONNELLAN-ALTRED for a great product discount!

Carbo Pro: http://www.carbopro.com  I have used these products before my Sprint Tri's and have noticed a big difference.  I started with the sample packs to make sure I didn't have any GI issues.  Zero taste, easy to use (it comes with instructions) it was something I could feel working.

Essentia Water: https://www.essentiawater.com  I am normally Hypo Natremic (low sodium counts) changing to a water that has the right electrolytes in it has been a game changer for me.  Now.  Please don't believe the hype with the companies that try to get you to try their "free samples" of Ionized/electrolyte infused water.  They try to get you to buy in to why their water is best but consumer reports has them flagged. Trust, me on this one....either invest in your own Reverse Osmosis/Ionization system or by at the store.

Untapped Maple: All Natural Athletic Fuel: https://untapped.cc This is by far the best endurance sport product on the market in my humble opinion. Over the last year, I have become super diet restricted to maintain my health. This brand of product is all natural, there are no synthetic ingredients which can lead to cramping and GI upset on the course. This company is the kind of company that genuinely appreciates your business and when you reach out to them, they actually respond. LOVE THEM.

Skin Care: https://athiaskincare.grsm.io/TracyConnellan I started using this brand of products a few months ago when winter was at its worst. My skin was dry and icky from the pool water and brutal conditions from being outside all the time. My super sensitive skin has never looked better and felt so good. I was actually able to dump the CC cream!

Sneakers Plus: https://www.sneakersplus.com  I get all of recreational running team "Thin White Line" apparel from Branden.  He's a Rock Star.  He handles all of Jake and Courtney's "Defend The Keeper" apparel also.  (www.defendthekeeper.com) They couldn't be any easier to work with.
